A hoof takes hold of the edge of a cliff in the mountains near Ponyville, the same mountains of the giant dragon who once took slumber. That hoof belonged to the Cowgirl determined to beat her speedy, Pegasus rival in climbing without the use of the mountainous trails. She climbed hoof by hoof, only a few rocks away from her rival below; just a Rainbow-colored mane from reaching her hind. She climbed to no cease, dripping with the sweaty, imminent glory she planned to meet soon enough. No equipment necessary.

She looked up with familiarity. It was the same cliff she and her five friends saw before making it to the used-to-be, smoke-filled nuisance of a cave they successfully solved thanks to the certain bravery of their shy, yet bravest friend.

"Almost there, partner," she said down below.
"Oh yeah?" said the Rainbow Pegasus.

Ignoring the rope tying down her wings, with one small crack away from her rival's hoof, she hit the rock as hard as she could with one hoof. This caused the cowgirl to break the rock her bottom hoof was on and lose the step she had ahead. The rival saw her chance and climbed as fast as she could past her. The cowgirl quickly found another rock before she could get the edge.

They were just barely neck to neck, only a mountainous trail away from their finish.
"This mountain is mine," said the Rainbow Pegasus.
"Not yet it is," said the Cowgirl Earth Pony.

They raced to reach the point of one of their victories. One was barely ahead of the other, but one hoof ahead was all one needed to climb onto the short trail and speed the rest of the way there. By the time one got to speed up, the other was already a second behind. There was no time to lose or waste. Already behind on the trail, once the cave was already a climb-over's reach, she quickly thought to jump as high as she could to get up there first. The one ahead only thought to keep running and just jump a step over the cliff.

They both jumped and toppled over the finish line. Both ponies had finally made it all the way up the mountain. They only took a few seconds for a breather until they both got back on their hooves. One looked to the other and saw from how much closer she was to the cave after leaping over the cliff behind her that she was the clear winner.

"Good racin' there Dash," Applejack said.
"I was so close this time," Rainbow said with moderate anger.
"Sorry partner, b'that was 2 outta 3."
"Yeah yeah, you win," Dash then held up a hoof for a bump.
Applejack met the courtesy and they both gave a smile for sportsmanship.
"Wanna catch some grub with the mares?" Applejack asked.
"Sure thing," Rainbow still smiled.

Before they could head to the trail, they were both met with a loud, high-pitched "GREAT RACE!" Applejack jumped back and almost toppled over the cliff while Rainbow Dash jumped straight up and stayed in place after her wings broke through the rope she tied herself up with.

"Pinkie Pie? What're you doin' up here?" Applejack asked.
"I came up with Rarity so I could help her collect some treasure after she realized they could still be in here from the time we came all the way up here for that dragon making all that smoke in the air and Fluttershy was all brave and told it to sleep somewhere else and we saved Equestria from spending 100 years in smoke and ashes."
"You mean that cave?" Applejack pointed to it in a simple sarcastic manner.
Pinkie Pie joyfully nodded as Rainbow Dash landed back to their level.
"Why would Rarity come all the way up here just for some gems?" Rainbow asked.
"Not gems…treasure…the one that dragon forgot to bring with him after Fluttershy told him to sleep somewhere else cause of all smoke he was making in his sleep," Pinkie corrected.
Rainbow thought for a minute, "Oh yeah…he had a lot."
"Not anymore. He just left it all here."
"I reckon we should talk her inta givin' it back. That dragon must be pretty mad fer just leavin' it all here."

They all agreed and headed inside the cave. They looked around and found a lot of the dragon's treasure much more organized than they remember. Certain polishes and glorified accessories were in their own separate piles while all the golden coins themselves were still all over the ground being sorted out by both Spike and Rarity. Spike was practically swimming in the coins, digging out gems, diamonds and other crystals he could gather to eat for later. Rarity was already wearing a good portion of the treasure like accessories as she was sorting and picking out anything that wasn't a golden coin or a crystal, assuming Spike could find it himself.

Applejack saw her and walked to her in a bothered manner.
"Some pony's been treasure huntin'," she said to her.
"Oh hello Applejack, I'm actually glad you're here. Could you lend us a hoof? I've been sorting this out all day and I could use more ponies to carry all of these."
"I don't think so Rarity."
Rarity stopped in her tracks for the moment. "Excuse me?"
"Rarity…how'd you find all this?"
"Pinkie Pie of course. She remembered that dragon we faced never took all of this with him-
"So you thought you c'n just take it all b'fore he came back?"
Rarity understood her anger and ceased her deeds.
"I was going to donate most of it to charity."
"Suuure…and what about the rest of it?"
"…Well…" she tried not to look her in the eye, and then remembered her deal with Spike, "Spike is handling the gems."
Applejack looked over to the coin pile Spike was in, and then saw him pop out with a huge arm full of gems and other crystals."
"I can't believe that big guy just left all these," Spike said with a smile.
He was about to eat one of them before he noticed Applejack looking to him with unamusement. Spike realized what he said out loud, put the gem back in the arm pile and just dropped them as they were. He then gave a nervous laugh.
"Not that I was going to eat them," he closed his eyes and hid his hands behind his back, "anymore," he muttered to himself.
"Rarity…nuna this belongs to you. It belongs t'that dragon. We ain't got no right takin' none of it. I'm sure he needs it all to stay put so he'll remember t'come back."
Rarity sighed in disappointment and stopped twiddling. "You're right…it's not mine to sort out."
She walked over to the coin pile Spike was in and looked up to him.
"I'm sorry Spike, but we're going home empty hoofed."
"I know," Spike was already out of the coin pile disappointed.
"W'hang on a second," said a voice from the coin pile on the other side. The three of them turned their heads towards Rainbow Dash who was lounging, wearing a red King's Crown with small diamonds on the golden edges.
"If we're not gonna take anything, can't we at least take a chill before we head back?"
Applejack rolled her eyes in good grief. "Faen…but nothin' here leaves the cave…got that," she meant every pony, including Spike.
"Swear it," Spike put one hand on his chest and the other held up in solemn.
"We were just going to head home anyway," Rarity said as she was about to walk away.
"Not so fast," Applejack stopped her in her tracks.

She held up her hoof so Rarity could take off everything she didn't bring with her. She took off a hoof-ring with a giant pearl on it, a bracelet with emerald beads, a pearl necklace that shined her colors, and a crown that had violet pearls on the tips and a sapphire on the center. Rarity was about to leave after that, but then she stopped from Applejack's "Up up up." Applejack looked towards her bags so she could inspect them as to what could've been put in there since she arrived. Rarity reluctantly gave them to her and waited until she was done. She turned both bags upside down and out poured a small waterfall of coins and necklaces that made Rarity blush with a big grin and a nervous giggle.

"I forgot those were in there."
"Uh-huh…" Applejack had a blank face at that point.
She finished inspecting her, walked to Spike, and then held up a hoof to him.
"I don't have anything." Spike said as he shrugged his shoulders.
Applejack raised an eyebrow and looked him in the eyes.
"Alright," he then reached down his throat and pulled out a perfectly unbroken, unchewed ruby that he swallowed whole earlier. He put it in her hoof without needing to shake off any drool.
"Thank you kindly," Applejack said, presenting the exit to both of them.
As both Spike and Rarity walked off on their plan to head home, Applejack looked around and noticed there was one pony missing from what she remembered there being.
"Hey Dash, you seen Pinkie anywhere?"
Dash sat up, shrugged her shoulders as she raised her hooves, then went right back to lounging. The next second, her seat was bumped straight up, sending her rolling over the coin pile and hitting her chin to the floor.
"HI GIRLS!" the sudden pink pony said.
"You've really gotta cool it with that," Dash said after flying to her level.
"Were you in there the whole time?" Applejack asked.
"Don't be silly. I've been walking around the cave all day."
She then dived back into the coin pile, then suddenly walked out from behind it like that was where she was.
"This cave is actually a lot bigger than we thought. We just never noticed until Rarity organized everything. The're some tunnels we can go into now.
"So you've just been walkin' 'round, not takin' nuthin?"
"Yep," she said as she nodded no. She then noticed one of the necklaces Rarity had in her bag before Applejack snuffed it out of her.
"Hey…I know that," she sped straight to a necklace with a small pair of golden wings on the bottom left and right sides and a horn on the top side that had a clear hexagonal gem in the golden filling that gave it its crust. It was slightly stretched horizontally and it had grayed swirls in the gem's design. She picked it up and showed it to Applejack, "This is what I saw on that statue I found earlier."
"Statue…what statue?"
"There's a statue of a little foal I found while I was going through that tunnel over there." Pinkie pointed Applejack towards the tunnel to the near left.
"Did I just hear 'tunnel' to explore?" Dash asked as she suddenly flew above them.

--

The three ponies traveled all the way down the tunnel with next to no problems in the way. They then found a huge cave-like room which had darkened swirls all around the walls. Inside the swirls were either hexagons, wings or horns. The swirls were organized so the hexagons were on the ceiling, the wings were on the walls, and the horns were on the floor, pointing to the middle of it all at the statue of the little foal mentioned earlier. It was about the same size as the other foals in the Cutie Mark Crusaders, and it looked like it was looking up towards the adult pony who stonified it in the first place. The statue coloring was somewhat hazel, but the thick disc it was sitting on was as dark as the swirls around the room.

Applejack and Rainbow Dash looked around the cave and observed the markings.
"Uh…nice cave," Rainbow said sarcastically.
"There…right there," Pinkie pointed to the mark in front of the foal's front hooves.
They all looked at it, Applejack held up the necklace and held it over so she can compare the two shapes; they were exactly the same image, like the necklace was meant as a key for the imprint in the statue. They all looked at the resemblance, just like she did.
"Wow…maybe these two were supposed to stick together," Dash suggested.
"…Maybe…" Applejack looked closer at the two, "…but I wonder."

Applejack then put the necklace over the mark, then adjusted it to make a perfect fit. She then put her hoof down and waited for something to happen. None of them waited for long for the gem and the swirls on it started to glow bright enough so they can clearly see everything around.

Suddenly the gem sunk right into the imprint, and all the swirls around the walls surrounded the hexagons, wings or horns inside of them. They then moved themselves to the ground, around the ponies' hooves, and all the way to the statue to make six imprints that circled the thick disc the statue was standing on. Above the imprints appeared five more hexagonal shapes that popped out a different colored gem in each of them. In the imprint Applejack put the necklace in; one more gem appeared in place of the necklace. It was magenta, just like the jewel on Twilight's Elemental Crown of Magic.

All three of them understood what was going on and what the six imprints are for.
"Dash, you get Fluttershy and Twilight! I'll get Spike and Rarity back here! Pinkie Pie, stay in the tunnel so we can find you," Applejack yelled out.

--

Twilight Sparkle was attempting to read a book with the little sunlight that was left. She sat right in front of her window, getting harder to read the more Princess Celestia was lowering the sun, and Princess Luna was raising the moon. Once she resorted to squinting, she got a small flame of light again, coming from a light-colored candle on a plate with a handle, thanks to her current assistant until Spike came home.

"Thank you Owlow," Twilight greeted.
Owlowiscious simply hooted, maybe saying 'You're welcome.'
Before she could continue reading, she heard a hard knocking in panic. She rushed over to the door and opened it to see who it could be. It was Rainbow Dash who was slightly out of breath for how much she rushed herself.
"Dash? What's going on?"
"Pinkie found something up the mountains!"
"Found what?"
"A Statue! It's glowing right now! You just gotta come with me!"

Rainbow Dash quickly grabbed her under her front hooves, lifted her in the air and flew as fast as she could back to the mountains, not letting Twilight get a chance to even close her door. Owlowiscious watch them leave, gave another hoot, flew to the doorknob on the inside of the library and pushed it so he could close the door for her.

Dash flew straight from the Golden Oaks Library to the peak of the mountain, Twilight screaming and squirming the whole way. Rainbow couldn't fly in a straight line thanks to her, but it wasn't primal in her mind. Once she reached the entrance of the cave, she put her down and gave her a second to recollect herself; getting her mane back in place and shaking her whole body like she just tumbled over a dirt pile.
"Dash, what's going on?" Twilight asked in fearful concern.
"Just c'mon on. Follow me."

Rainbow then ran as fast as she could through all the sorted treasure the giant dragon still never brought with him. Twilight followed behind and attempted to catch up after passing over all the golden coins still all over the place. The further Rainbow Dash was, the harder it was to tell where she was going, but as long as Twilight could at least catch her Rainbow-colored Mane, she still kept her trail.

She followed her all the way through the tunnel Pinkie Pie found.
"C'mon. In here," Dash said before re-entering the glowing cave.
Twilight finally caught up and found the rest of the ponies, including Spike, waiting for her, being the last one to arrive.
"Good…that's every pony," Applejack said.
"What's going on in here? And what's that Statue about?" Twilight asked.
"It's been waitin' for us?" Applejack answered.
"Us?" she walked to the statue after Applejack pointed to it and looked at where the glowing was coming from.

She examined the six gems around the little foal statue and found the imprints below. Each gem represented the same colors on their necklaces when they first activated their Elements. Her own Magenta was right in front. Fluttershy's Pink and Rainbow Dash's Red were on the statue's right side of its thick disc, Pinkie's Sky Blue and Applejack's Orange were on the left, and Rarity's Violet was at the back. Each imprint below them gave a certain message for the six ponies.

"Okay…" Twilight finished looking around, understood what to do and turned towards the others, "Every pony to your hoof prints."
They all ran around the statue and found their gems to put their hooves for standby.
"Spike…stand back."
Spike ran to the exit of the cave, but still kept within sight so he could watch.
"On the count of three, every pony at the same time."
"Right," Applejack said.
"Got it," Rainbow said.
"…1…" They all looked to the imprints meant for their hooves, "…2…" All of their hooves shook just a little bit, Fluttershy's more than the rest of them, "…3!"

With one slightly loud trot, all six hooves made their fit. Without removing their hooves, all six gems glowed their rightful colors. From the gems came dark streams of hazel that surrounded the statue all over. It made a swirl on each of its flanks, one on where each wing would be, and the smallest swirl where it would have a horn. When the streams reached the eyes, the dark hazel color covered them, and made a glow brighter than the gems did. The glow flowed throughout the streams and swirls, and all six ponies kept watching it all play out.

They watched as the statue started to crack, especially where the streams made their swirls. Those were where the cracks first made their crumbles; showing hints of a real foal coming out. The crumbling on the flanks showed what should've been cutie marks, but were actually just oval shades that matched the color of the foal's outlining. The swirls on its forehead and its back crumbled away in an instant with the growth of a horn and a pair of wings. The rest of the statue broke apart, the remnants of the shell piling all around the little foal.

The six took their hooves out of the imprints while Spike from afar watched it all in, "Whoa."
They all got up from their spots and sought to greet the young foal. Getting up and shaking dirt off, the foal looked up and around, viewing the first six ponies to see since before inside what only looked like the statue.

"Are you all the Elements of Harmony?" asked the young filly.
Here it is: the first Chapter of a whole new story I've just been meaning to share with the Brony Community.

I was going to upload a Preview Image with this, but then I remembered I suck at drawing. Well...compared to a lot of other artists I've seen. I'll still put up something before I get to the second Chapter, which should be up pretty soon.
